Crazy Scottie Scheffler stats from historic 2024 season: Big earnings, Tiger territory

A Masters green jacket and an Olympic gold medal. A first-time father and his first time being arrested. A year Scottie Scheffler won’t forget ended the best way possible Sunday when he won the FedEx Cup to cap off golf’s best season in nearly two decades.
“If you can describe it in words, more power to you,” Scheffler said after his four-shot victory in the Tour Championship for his eighth win of the year. “Because I don’t think I can.”
The victory pushed his season earnings, including bonuses, to just under $62.3 million.
It was the greatest year since Tiger Woods won eight times in 2006, including six in a row and two majors, all while dealing with the death of his father. Scheffler’s eight wins included the Masters, The Players Championship, an Olympic gold medal and the Tour Championship that enabled him to finally claim the FedEx Cup.

His seven PGA Tour titles are the most since Woods in 2007.
Here are more notable stats from the wildly successful Scheffler season:
$29,228,357 in official earnings this season broke his own PGA Tour record of $21 million that he set last season. That doesn’t count the $25 million bonus for winning the Tour Championship.
19 of 19 cuts made; 16 top tens; finished first (7 times) or second (twice) in 47.3% of PGA Tour tournaments he played.
68.01 lowest stroke average in Tour history.
Ranked No. 1 in first-round average (67.84); No. 1 in second-round (67.53); 13th in third round (68.74); and second in final round (67.94).
Of his 76 rounds played, shot in the 60s 49 times, most on Tour.
Led in both greens in regulation (73%) and putting strokes average per hole (1.69). First player to lead in both since stats have been compiled.
You can’t simply quantify how impressive Scheffler’s 2024 was by his on-play stats over his competitors. His $29,228,357 in official earnings this season is more than the bottom 142 players on the PGA Tour money list combined.
In the Official World Golf Rankings, Scheffler’s dominance is seen by his average points gap over the rest of the best of the PGA Tour. For example, Scheffler’s average points are currently more than double that of third-placed Rory McIlroy.
According to PGA Tour Communications, Scheffler has now spent 50 weeks at No. 1 in the FedExCup standings, the second-most of any player since 2007, when Tiger Woods spent 85 weeks atop the standings.
